High Performance Platform

STW is developing a new product family: the High Performance Platform for mobile machines - HPX for short. The HPX marks the start of a new generation of powerful vehicle control electronics for mobile machines - for implementing highly automated or autonomous applications. The platform combines the advantages of the robust STW ESX product family with more computing power and a new type of device architecture in a single device.

With the HPX.ai-vision, STW provides a powerful platform for entering the field of environment detection and process automation for mobile machines. Increasing automation and the growing complexity of these machines require advanced solutions to support operators and increase safety - especially with limited visibility and difficult working environments.

The HPX.ai-vision uses a multiprocessor system to evaluate environmental information and make it available for further use. Integrated AI algorithms efficiently process data from camera, lidar and radar sensors. Cameras capture the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum and enable a 360° all-round view or a top-down view. In addition, lidar and Time-of-Flight (ToF) cameras detect hidden objects, while stereo cameras enable precise distance calculations.

Since a Linux distribution is available on a dedicted processor system, the user can easily provide the data in controllers, displays or connectivity modules for communication with cloud solutions or other machines - without in-depth AI knowledge.

The HPX.ai-vision also supports AI implementations by the user. STW provides suitable development environments and comprehensive support for this. In addition, the HPX.ai-vision can be operated without active cooling over the full temperature range from -40°C to +85°C and is functionally safe with certification up to ASIL B.
