Communication on machines, and between machines, is becoming increasingly important in agriculture, construction, municipal and forestry equipment. At SPS, STW from Kaufbeuren will be showing communication and automation solutions for mobile machines of the future, and services that help integrate them on the machine.
The integration of highly automated or autonomous processes on mobile machines is enormously complex. The systems must exhibit high levels of performance and be intuitive to operate, yet still meet the highest standards of functional safety. The automation and digitization specialists from STW in Kaufbeuren will be presenting hardware, software and, above all, services to address these demands, at the SPS from 8-10 November in Nuremberg.
STW will be showing components suitable for setting up AI-supported and semi-autonomous systems with smart sensors, such as the SMX.igs-e inclination sensor, the latest control platforms based on multi-core processors and the TCG-4 communication module. The latter supports communication with a large number of established cloud solutions, supports bespoke connections, and provides edge computing for data pre-processing.
STW will also present its range of competencies in fully automated functions and processes within its Future Tech group. The Future Tech team develops solutions around 5G and V2X connectivity, object recognition algorithms and the implementation of artificial intelligence on the machine.
In order to realize complex systems on the machine, developers need corresponding integration expertise. To help with this expertise, STW offers its customers tailored services: initial and advanced training possibilities, partnership-based development of customized solutions, and a user-friendly open source software suite, openSYDE. STW will be presenting its range of integration services on the booth at the SPS.
