Construction machinery and its processes are becoming increasingly complex. For example, automated and highly networked machines are already in use in road building. The automation experts from STW in Kaufbeuren support manufacturers with the integration of complex systems and components based on the latest technologies. At bauma 2022, STW will present their range of competencies and corresponding expertise in this field.
STW offers automation and digitization solutions for demanding manufacturers of mobile machinery. Since being founded almost 40 years ago, the Kaufbeuren based company has been developing and producing specialized products and custom solutions in close partnership with manufacturers of construction, agricultural, forestry and municipal machinery.
With its extensive integration portfolio, STW is able to support customers throughout the entire life cycle of their product. Starting with system design and product development, the developers and specialists provide support based on many years of experience to master the challenges that modern systems, machines and work processes bring with them. STW's specialist Field Application Engineering department actively supports machine manufacturers in setting up the system architecture, integration of system components, and the development of the application; providing individual service in close partnership with the customer. Special EMS services (contract manufacturing of electronic products and devices) round off the range of services.
The intuitive and graphical software openSYDE from STW is an open source platform that supports machine developers with the integration of components and the application development. The software seamlessly integrates into the developer's individual toolchain and automates time-consuming, repetitive tasks in system definition, implementation, commissioning and tuning of control systems. The support of open standards such as UDS, CANopen and, in the future, J1939, makes implementation flexible and, above all, faster. In addition, the software can be adapted to the customer's requirements. With the open source approach, nothing stands in the way of easy integration into existing toolchains, and systems that include components from other suppliers, with user specific adaptations. openSYDE is certified according to SIL 2 / PL d, providing the perfect basis for the development of safety applications.
STW’s own integration portfolio is complemented by the STW ECO system. This cross-technology network of certified STW partners offers further integration services and partner solutions with optimally matched components and maximum compatibility. As with openSYDE, an open approach in the STW ECO system facilitates the integration with third-party systems.
